A young man has appeared in court charged with murder.

Shane Penfold, 19, from Elvington, near Sandwich, has been remanded in custody.

It follows the death of 23-year-old Marc Brown, of Church Road, Deal.

He died in a London hospital on Thursday after he was found with a wound to the head in Mongeham Road, Great Mongeham, on August 15.

Penfold will appear before Maidstone Crown court next month.
