A man who blinded another man in a glass attack has been jailed for the public protection.
Michael Norris, 19, must serve three years before he is eligible for parole.
James Kidd had tried to intervene in a row between Norris and his partner when Norris smashed a glass in his face, leaving him scarred for life.
At the time of the incident, Norris was on bail for another wounding in which he stubbed a cigarette out in his victim’s eye then fractured his jaw by hitting him in the face with a sock containing a pool ball.
Norris, of Sewell Close, Birchington, admitted wounding and wounding with intent.
At Canterbury Crown Court he was given a sentence for public protection which means he must serve at least three years, less 97 days served on remand, before he can be considered for parole.
