A TEENAGER needed hospital treatment after being assaulted in a Margate nightclub over the Christmas holiday. The 18-year-old local man was in the Escape club in Marine Terrace when a man approached him and punched him in the face.

He was then struck twice on the back of the head with a bottle. The victim was taken to Margate's Queen Mother Hospital but later released.

An 18-year-old man from Margate has been arrested and charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
