Man denies attack near live rail track

A man has denied assaulting a rail passenger who was allegedly pushed off a platform onto the track at a station.

Ionel Rapisca, of Joyce Green Lane, Dartford, entered not guilty pleas at Maidstone Crown Court to causing Linda Buchanan grievous bodily harm with intent and an alternative charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Deputy Judge Crawford Lindsay, QC, continued conditional bail for the 31-year-old until a further hearing on a date to be decided.

Mother-of-three Miss Buchanan, 58, suffered a broken wrist and bruises during the incident at Farningham Road station on August 6 last year. She narrowly missed the 750-volt live rail.
