A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murdering man in a fight outside a bar, police revealed today.
The victim, 25, died after an unprovoked attack outside the Kabuki bar in Marine Gardens, Margate, at the weekend.
He has been named locally as Richard Collier, although police have not yet released his name.
Richard was described as a "true gent" by friends on a site set up in his memory on Facebook.
The incident happened just after 2am on Saturday.
The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate but later died of his injuries.
A 19-year-old man attended Margate police station this morning where he was taken into custody. He is currently being questioned.
Detective Chief Inspector Rob Vinson is still appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
He said: "The victim had been out in Margate with friends on Friday night and while standing outside the Kabuki bar in the early hours of Saturday morning he was approached by the offender who seriously assaulted him.
"At this stage it appears to have been a completely unprovoked attack.
"We know there are still further witnesses out there, as there were around 30 people outside the bar at the time who potentially saw what happened and I urge them to contact police as a matter of urgency."
