A MARGATE man has been accused of murdering his partner following the discovery of a woman's body in a house in the town.

Paul Scott, 45, is alleged to have killed 67-year-old Barbara Shaw at her home in New Cross Street last Thursday.

Mr Scott appeared before Thanet Magistrates on Saturday and was remanded in custody. There was no application for bail.

Detectives are anxious to hear from any friends or associates of Mrs Shaw who spoke to her in the last three weeks of her life. Anyone with information is asked to telephone police in the incident room on 01853 222216.
