The victim was left laying unconscious in Mote Road last night just yards from The Cricketers.

Officers have arrested three men in connection with this incident.

Two male suspects aged 26 and 27 have been arrested on suspicion of assault and a 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three are from the Maidstone area.

The nearby Mote Road junction with Hastings Road and Watt Tyler Way and Kingsley Road were closed to allow scene preservation and forensic work to be carried out.

Road closures were lifted at around 4.30am, however a small area in Mote Road remains cordoned off.

Witnesses are asked to call Kent Police on 01622 690 690 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
