A Medway man who appeared in court charged with the attempted kidnap of a teenage schoolgirl, has been remanded in custody.

Kenneth Roy Clarke, 23, from Gillingham appeared before Medway Magistrates Court on Friday morning. The case has now been committed to Maidstone Crown Court.

Clarke, of Derwent Way, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly tried to abduct a 14-year-old girl.

A date for his next appearance has yet to be set.
