Man punched in racist attack

A RACIALLY motivated assault on an Indian man is being investigated by Thanet police. The 33-year-old was approached as he got out of his car at Southwood Road, Ramsgate. A man swore at him, made racial comments and then punched him in the face before running off.

The attack happened at 7.30pm on Wednesday near the junction with Lorne Road. The assailant is said to be in his mid 30s, balding, and tall with a fat stomach.

He wore a fleece and jogging bottoms. Anyone with information should telephone Det Con Karen Risby, 01843 222138.
