A man was injured in mysterious circumstances last night.

The 27-year-old was walking in Godfrey Walk, Ashford, with friends when a white van stopped in the cul-de-sac.

The man was said to have gone to talk to the driver at about 5.50pm.

His friends then reported later seeing the van driven off and their friend was lying on the ground with a head injury.

He was taken to a London hospital and is understood to be in a stable condition.

Police made house to house inquiries and have now launched an appeal for witnesses to the incident or anyone who saw the white van, said to be similar to a Ford Transit.

Anyone with information is asked to phone police on 101, giving reference 26-1251.
