Detectives have named a man they want to speak to after a policeman was run over near Tunbridge Wells.

Stephen Fahri is wanted over the hit and run in Southborough last Friday, during which an officer was knocked down as he tried to stop a car pulling away.

It happened as the vehicle was about to pull out of Springfield Road into London Road.

The policeman was found lying unconscious in the road around 300 metres away. He was taken to hospital but released the next day.

Fahri, 29, who is believed to have connections to Beckenham and Norwich, was featured on the BBC's Crimewatch programme last night.

Insp Justin Watts of Kent Police urged anyone with information to call 01732 379141 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
