Meningitis warning to parents

PARENTS of children at a Kent school have been sent information after a pupil became ill with suspected meningitis.
The boy, a pupil at Wainscott primary school, near Rochester, is not in the country at the moment. It is believed he was taken ill while visiting family abroad.
But Medway Council has been liaising closely with the school and the communicable diseases unit to make sure everyone is kept informed.
A council spokesman said: "We wish the child who has suspected meningitis a speedy recovery.
"The letter advised parents what symptoms they needed to look out for should they think their child may have contracted the illness and tells them how to get help should they need it."
