A Sheppey company is one of 30 in the county to be recognised for keeping workers safe.
Bosses at the Istil UK rolling mill, in Rushenden Road, Rushenden, received a bronze award at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) occupational health and safety awards in Birmingham.
The award recognises the firm’s efforts and achievements in workplace safety during the past year.
Tom Mullarkey, RoSPA Chief Executive, said: “These awards show just how seriously our country’s leading businesses take the subject of saving lives and reducing injuries.
“Although they may not know who they are, thousands of people are alive and well today because of the effort that every member of these organisations has put into ensuring a sensible approach to controlling workplace risks.”
The awards have been running for 52 years and are sponsored by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).
