Chevrolet has given the Captiva SUV a series of small updates to rejuvenate it half way through its expected life cycle.
Chief among the changes are new LED tail lights, which activate a split-second faster than ordinary bulbs when the driver brakes, helping to improve safety for cars behind.
A number of purely cosmetic tweaks have also been made, like angular chrome exhaust tips and a remodelled rear bumper. At the front the bumper extends lower beneath a new grille mesh and restyled fog lamps. New 18-inch alloy wheels freshen up the side profile.
In terms of technology keyless entry has been added to higher trim grades, while range-topping models now have slightly different leather upholstery. Further down the range the cloth seats have also been updated.
Again, cosmetic changes are the main news inside, with a different style for the main instruments, but on upper trim levels buyers can now have access to heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control and ambient lighting.
The Captiva will still be offered with five- and seven-seat options, plus three trim levels from LS to LTZ, with LT the likely mid-range best seller.
Only one engine choice will be available, with the continuation of the 2.2-litre VCDi diesel. However, buyers can choose a manual or an automatic gearbox – the latter at an extra cost.
Prices for manual versions start at £21,295 for an LS, £26,995 for an LT and £29,995 for the LTZ. Orders can be placed now at Chevrolet dealers nationwide.
