A 13-year-old girl missing from her Portsmouth home has turned up in the county before.

Ami Sue-Ellen Smith was last seen at around 6pm on March 8 by her mother at her home in Bedhampton House, Landport.

She had asked her mum if she could stay at a friend's house, but she has not returned home since then.

Acting Det Sgt Mark Hall, of Hampshire Police, said: "Ami has been missing before, and has been found in Edenbridge, Kent where she has a number of contacts.

"We would appeal to anyone who sees her or who knows her whereabouts to contact police urgently. Her mother is very concerned for her welfare."

Ami is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build with blue eyes and straight blond hair with brown roots.

She was wearing khaki green combat trousers, a khaki long-sleeved combat jacket and brown knee-high boots.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 0845 0454545.
