A toddler who went missing more than a year ago has been returned to the UK.

Emmanuel Biendarra, who lived with his father in west Kent, was last seen in November 2019 when he went to stay with his mother Kristina Nobis for the weekend.

Emmanuel Biendarra, from Kent, went missing last year

However the two-year-old boy was not returned home at the arranged time and it is understood his mother, a German citizen, took him with her to the continent.

Last month, his father Benjamin Biendarra issued an appeal for his safe return via High Court Family Division judge Mr Justice Peel, saying he was "so worried about his safety".

The boy's 34-year-old mother is known to have links to locations in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, so may have been with the child in one of those countries while he was missing.

It is understood Mr Justice Peel is currently hearing proceedings relating to the toddler, and yesterday confirmed the boy had returned to the UK.
