A possible electrical fault caused a car to burst into flames in Bredhurst.

A mother and her son were in the Vauxhall Astra when she realised there was a problem and pulled over in Forge Lane at about 8.30pm on Saturday.

She called for help from Kent Fire and Rescue Service and a crew from Medway station were sent out to put out the flames.

A spokesman said: “The car was totally destroyed by the fire and we were on the scene for about half an hour.”
