Glenda Potter

The murder of a prostitute in 1991 is being re-examined by police, we can reveal.

Officers hope fresh investigations into the killing of mother of three Glenda Potter may finally lead to an arrest.

Glenda, 32, was found strangled in the grounds of a church in Rochester exactly 19 years ago today.

The case follows the success of Kent's Safe Exit scheme, which has seen prostitutes taken off the streets of Medway and offered support.

Insp Gary Woodward, who led Safe Exit, said: “I know that it has been described as a very solveable murder.”

He added: “It was 19 years ago and we hope that people might be able to come forward now where they might not have been able to at the time.”

Area commander for Medway, Chief Supt Steve Corbishley, said: “I am confident we will bring whoever committed this crime to justice.”
