UNPROVOKED ASSAULT: Les Pearton

KENT Police have renewed an appeal for information after a gang of thugs left a man battered and bruised yards from his home.

Les Pearton was taken by surprise, by what he thinks were two or three men at the rear of his house, in Lower Higham, near Gravesend.

They hit him on the head and threw him in a pile of rubble before fleeing the scene.

Mr Pearton, of Michele Cottages, Lower Higham, suffered injuries in the unprovoked attack on Monday, November 26, at about 11.15pm. The men ran off towards Chalk Road.

The 52-year-old said: “It happened very suddenly. It was out of the blue.”

Mr Pearton went to Medway Hospital and was signed off work at Britannia Refined Metals in Northfleet, for 10 days.

Anyone who saw the incident or the men in the area around Chalk Road near the time of the attack should call police on 01322 283096 or Crimestoppers, free and anonymously, on 0800 555111.
