A limited production run of BMW M3 and M5 special editions has been announced, with the added bonus of them being for UK sales only to add to the exclusivity.

Just 30 examples of the M3 Performance Edition will be built, with the same number of M5 Performance Edition models, each of which are loaded with extras and some unique design elements.

Both are available in three new 'frozen' paint colours for the first time: Japan Red with a Frozen Red wrap, Frozen White and Frozen Blue. To compliment this both cars get high-grade black leather as standard, with a choice of red, white or blue contrast stitching.

The M3 comes with the usual 4.2-litre V8 and M DCT transmission, and is also fitted with the Competition package which includes 10mm lower ride height, electronic damper control and a revised ESP system. It also has a host of extra equipment including matt 19-inch alloy wheels, carbonfibre front splitter and a high-grade audio system.

The M5 Performance Edition adds 20-inch matt wheels, M Sport seats, a powered bootlid and soft close doors amongst £22,000-worth of additional equipment.

Both cars are on sale now at £74,080 for the M3 M Performance Edition and the M5 M Performance Edition is priced at £95,140.
