RESCUED: Harry with Medway Messenger front counter receptionist Diane Heaver

A BABY hedgehog has been rescued by staff of the Medway Messenger newspaper.

The hedgehog, nicknamed Harry, was only a few weeks old when he was spotted walking in the road outside the Medway Messenger offices in Chatham High Street.

Following a quick call to the British Hedgehog Preservation Society, Harry was wrapped up in a warm blanket and taken to a member of the BHPS who lives in Sittingbourne.

Harry is now eating well and will be kept indoors until he puts on weight. He will then be introduced to the outdoors and, in his own time, it is expected he will wander off into the wild.
