A court has called for reports on a 32-year-old Ramsgate man who has admitted two rapes.

John Mendy, a nurse, of Sandwich Road, Ramsgate, appeared at Canterbury Crown Court and pleaded guilty to raping a woman on August 16, last year.

At an earlier court appearance, Mendy had admitted raping another woman on November 15, last year, in Canterbury.

Before hearing any facts of the case and sentencing, Judge Adele Williams said she needed to know much more about Mendy and his situation.

She said she needed a full pre-sentence report to consider dangerousness and also ordered a prison psychiatric report.

Mendy, who worked at St Martin's Hospital, Canterbury, was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on July 25.
