We haven’t had the greatest luck in front of goal recently but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before we get a couple of breaks and the goals start going in for us.

The situation will only be helped by the arrival of Dicko, pictured, (Chris Dickson) this week.

He is a larger-than-life character with a great eye for goal and gives us more options up front.

I’m sure he’ll be looking to take up where he left off last time he was here when he knocked a few in.

The gaffer changed a few faces around on Saturday to freshen things up a bit and you could see the desire from the boys that they wanted to stay in the team from 1 to 11.

That is only healthy as I know those who didn’t start at the weekend are desperate to get back in the side. We are going to need to have the options to change things as each game throws up different questions.

I feel we are through our sticky spell now and ready to come out the other side and pick up the points we need to climb the table.

We gained another point last weekend at Yeovil although it was obviously frustrating that we didn’t get the three.

Wherever you go in this division a draw is a positive result. That said, though, we feel we had every right to come away with three on Saturday.

The first half, in particular, saw us pretty much dominate possession and carve out a couple of chances, one which their keeper pulled off a great save from Westy.

We played a slightly different system on Saturday with a diamond in the middle of the pitch. It worked well for us and it’s positive that we have another shape we can play comfortably.

The shape requires our front two to occupy their back four and also track the full-backs at times. I thought the work that Dennis Oli and Jimmy Walker put in was outstanding. They also showed some lovely touches.

The diamond gives us a nice mix in midfield with Millsy and Jacko’s legs and endeavour, Kev’s experience and Curtis’ skill and creativity. The second half was slightly more even as they had a couple of efforts on goal, although we gave as good as we got and Curt was unlucky when forced wide by the keeper and could only strike a post.

In the end a point was a decent result as it lifted us out of the bottom four and gave us a platform to build on with two big games coming up at home.

Saturday sees us entertain Bristol Rovers. After a tight game with them last November – we lost 2-1 – I expect nothing different at the weekend. Hopefully we’ll get the rub of the green which they had at their place to come away with the points.

They had a good result in the week against Charlton so they will be confident but we have had a great week’s training and are looking forward to the challenge. After that we play Leyton Orient, who have also had a decent run recently, on Tuesday night but we know we are more than capable of beating them.

First things first, though, and let’s all focus on getting the all-important win to get us rolling again this weekend against Rovers.

p.s. Just a note to my wife. I was not one of the boys who picked up a Valentines Day card at the motorway services on the way home on Saturday. Naming no names but shame on you lads!
