A treasure trove of Thanet history is archived by photographer Ralph Hoult who has thousands of pictures peeping into the past.

He said: “Snapshots of a bygone era tell so many stories, moments frozen in time at the click of a photographer’s camera shutter.”

Ralph, who is in charge of marketing at Ramsgate’s Granville Theatre, is entertaining audiences with a weekly show detailing the town’s rich and entertaining history.

He has already covered entertainers and 60 years of the Granville Theatre. On Tuesday, July 29 he will focus the town’s Napoleonic history, while on Wednesday, August 6, the topic is Ramsgate at war and the blitz years. How shops and shopping has changed over the decades is explored on Wednesday, August 13, while Ramsgate Entertains is the title of the show on Wednesday, August 20, with bygone celebrities under the spotlight on Wednesday, August 27.

Ralph meets the audience at 10am for refreshments before the talk. Tickets are £3.50.
