Incredible photographs show a tranquil scene of Leeds Castle shrouded in winter fog, with grass and trees silver with ice on a frosty morning.

As if taken from the pages of a fairytale book, the famous Broomfield fort is pictured surrounded by still water and woodlands with cool mist meeting drawn-out clouds on the horizon.

The winter wonderland images were captured on one of the coldest days so far this year, with thousands of people in Kent waking up to a snow-dusted landscape and temperature well below freezing.

In Dover, drone photographer Mark Hamilton, captured images from above the rooftops of Tower Hamlets and Coombvalley Road.

The morning light is seen reflecting off the white rooftops in the coastal town.

"I thought the pictures would make good Christmas cards," said the hobbyist.

If the weather conditions keep going the way they are, Kent could be in for a white Christmas.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for the county which is this week expected to see snow, ice and cold spells as low as -4C.

Forecasters say there is a small chance there will be travel delays on roads due to stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.

There is also a slight chance some rural communities could become cut off, and the possibility of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.

Untreated pavements and cycle paths may become impassable, and there could potentially be power cuts and other services, like mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

Train lines in the east of the county are today out of action due to overnight showers which have frozen on to rails and made them impassable.
