The start of the new football season has been marred by racist and homophobic abuse.

A Maidstone United player received racist abuse from a spectator, while Sheppey United's Jahmal Howlett-Mundle - who appeared on the podcast just last week to talk about coming out as bisexual to his team mates - said he received homophobic abuse.
