Police hunt seafront attacker

A MAN was beaten to the ground in a motiveless attack as he walked along the seafront at Cliftonville, near Margate. He was confronted by a youth who punched him several times in the head.

The 33-year-old victim fell to his knees, and the youth continued to punch and kick him before running off. The injured man, who lives in Margate, managed to get to a nearby bowling alley and staff there called the police.

The man was taken to Margate's Queen Mother Hospital with cuts and bruising to his face.

The attacker is white, aged about 17 or 18.

He is 6ft and of medium build. He was wearing a white, long sleeved hooded top, blue jeans or tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
