Police name train death man

Police have named the man who died at Swanley train station on Saturday.

Christopher Penn, 26, from Swanley, was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by a train passing platform four.

He was struck by the 9.52am Victoria to Ramsgate service. It was half an hour into its journey and travelling at 70mph.

Passengers were taken off the train and walked back to the station along the tracks.

The driver was immediately relieved of his duties. He was described as "very shaken".

The station was closed for three hours and temporary bus services were put in place.

According to staff, who have seen CCTV footage of the incident, Mr Penn appears to jump from the platform.
