Maidstone Crown Court

A policeman appeared in court today charged with causing the death of a Hadlow mother-of-three by dangerous driving.

Metropolitan officer PC Nigel Brown is alleged to have killed 29-year-old Felicity Austin on the A21 Pembury Road in Tonbridge in May last year.

Miss Austin, of The Paddock, died after she was involved in a head-on collision with the unmarked police car which was involved in operational duties.

Brown, 46, whose address cannot be given for legal reasons, spoke only to confirm his name during the brief preliminary hearing at Maidstone Crown Court.
