Politician, 58, dies after illness

Terry Woolley suffered a stroke seven months ago

A WELL known Kent politician has died.

Terry Woolley died in the Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, on Friday, seven months after suffering a stroke.

The 58-year-old was a former member of the Liberal Democrats national committee, chairman of the Arriva TGWU branch in Medway and chaired Gillingham's Hackney Carriages and Leisure committees.

He had been planning to seek re-election to the Watling and North Ward which he had represented since 1990 until his illness.
