Power cut misery for more than 200 homes

Two hundred and thirty one homes were left without power for 12 hours following a power cut.

Customers in Sidney Road, Borstal, were without electricity from 3.43pm on Monday until 3.10am on Tuesday.

A spokesman for EDF Energy, said: “Customers in the Sidney Road area of Borstal experienced an interruption to their power supplies because of a fault on the electricity distribution network.

“Engineers worked through the day and into the night to restore supplies, which happened at 3.10am on Tuesday.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused."
