Protest campaign off to flying start

A CAMPAIGN against the closures run by Kent Online's sister newspaper Bromley Extra has had a lively response from the public.
Protest forms are coming in thick and fast--a total 126 were returned in the first five days.
Here are more comments from writers, listed under their local branches.
Albany Park, Bexley
"Albany Park has all the services, railway, pub, shops, garage and needs a post office. Closure would be sheer vandalism of our community." Mr and Mrs G. Frape, Royal Road, Sidcup.
Barnehurst
"Ken who runs the post office knows most customers by name. It would end a lifeline for many people were it to close." Mrs S. Herridge, Appledore Avenue, Barnehurst.
Central Avenue, Welling
"Many elderly citizens will be unable to get to the branches you (Post Office Ltd) do not close. They deserve better than this." B.W. and R.J. Illing, Tidford Road, Welling.
Falconwood, Welling
"Why close a very popular post office with good service?" B.E. Lees, Newlyn Road, Welling.
Perry Street, Crayford
"More than a point of sale for some it represents gentle exercise (getting there), contact with others (the lonely), part of our heritage (keep the small shop). Not everyone has a car." Peter Skilton, Selkirk Drive, Erith.
Station Parade, Bexleyheath
"This is a very efficient PO with very friendly and helpful staff. It will be greatly missed if forced to close." Mr B.K. Brown, Mayfair Avenue, Bexleyheath.
Station Road, Sidcup
"The PO at the end of my road in Main Road has already been closed. Do not close this one at the other end." Tracey Youngs, Longlands Road, Sidcup.
