MOTORSPORT is meeting the military as a race track holds a charity extravaganza for wounded troops.
Brands Hatch is joining forces with Help for Heroes this bank holiday weekend during the UK round of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.
The circuit, in Fawkham, has invited a range of military-themed entertainment in a bid to raise cash for the charity, which supports servicemen and women injured in conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Soldiers representing Help for Heroes will be collecting donations from spectators during the three-day bank holiday event, which started on Friday.
Bryn Parry, co-founder and chief executive of Help for Heroes, which has raised almost £20 million since 2007, said: "I am just staggered and delighted by the number of people who are doing their bit to support our wounded heroes."
Tickets for A1GP Brands Hatch, which is running until May 3 cost from £29 for adults on race day with free entry for children aged 12 and under.
