A £10,000 reward is now on offer to help catch three thugs who attacked a 78-year-old widow.

Property tycoon Fergus Wilson originally offered £1,000 after reading in the Kent Messenger how Jean Thomas, from Staplehurst, was pinned down and repeatedly punched in the face after the thugs broke down her door.

Mr Wilson, from Boughton Monchelsea, has already increased his reward to £5,000, but this week decided to double it.

He said: “This poor woman will be looking over her shoulder for the rest of her life while the people responsible continue to walk around freely.

“Someone knows something and I hope this increase will make that person come forward.”

The reward is offered on the basis of information leading to the conviction of those responsible.

If you can help, call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
