A woman had a lucky escape when a rock was thrown at her car.

The stone was pelted at her windscreen in Thames Way, Gravesend.

The woman pulled over when she heard a smash and found a rock nearby.

Luckily, the rock did not crash through the glass at about 4.30pm last Tuesday.

PC Andy Owen said: "Kent Police takes this sort of incident very seriously.

"I would urge parents to speak to their children so they are aware how dangerous it is, and the consequences of being arrested and dealt with for criminal offences."

Witnesses are asked to phone PC Owen on 101 - quoting crime reference XY/25489/12 - or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
