Four new stamps in memory of The Duke of Edinburgh have been unveiled by Royal Mail.

The black and white portrait photographs of Prince Philip were taken at different stages in his long life and will be released on the stamps next month.

Born on June 10, 1921 The Queen's husband passed away on April 9, aged 99 at Windsor Castle.

The new commemorative collection of images were taken by various photographers in different locations.

The first is of His Royal Highness as a young man taken by the photographer Baron, another is of Prince Philip attending the passing out parade of Prince Andrew at Dartmouth Naval College in Devon.

A third photograph was taken at the Royal Windsor Horse Show and the final is by the photographer Terry O’Neill.

The stamps will go on general sale from Thursday, June 24.

A presentation pack will cost £6.65 or £5.76 for a miniature sheet.

But the collections are now available to pre-order, alongside a range of other collectables, from Royal Mail's website.

Philip was the longest-serving consort in British history after marrying Queen Elizabeth II in July 1947.

Simon Thompson, CEO of Royal Mail said: ”Throughout adulthood, The Duke of Edinburgh dedicated himself to the service of this country, the Commonwealth and to the many causes he was involved with. For more than seven decades he was at the centre of our national life.

"His passing is a key moment in our history which we mark with this set of commemorative stamps."
