In-form Sam Billings helped Hartley Country Club to retain their leadership of the Shepherd Neame Kent League Premier Division on Saturday.

A day before he hit 143 for Kent against Derbyshire, Billings stroked a well-crafted 68 as Hartley defeated Beckenham by 82 runs at Foxgrove Road.

Billings (pictured), who starred in Kent's Clydesdale Bank 40 win at Canterbury on Sunday, figured in a third-wicket century stand with Charlie Hemphrey (51) against Beckenham. Hilio de Abreu weighed in with 78 as Hartley set a target of 269-7 which the home side never really threatened despite 78 by Raza Ali Dar, and Beckenham were eventually bowled out for 187.

Blackheath remain in second place, 12 points behind Hartley, after sweeping to a 113-run success at Bickley Park.

They were led to victory by Mohammad Ashraful, who scored 102 out of Blackheath's total of 240-6. Bickley Park could only manage 127 all out in reply, with Dipayan Paul picking up 3-15.

Third-placed Sevenoaks Vine edged to a thrilling victory over Canterbury. Opener Fabian Cowdrey scored his second century of the season to help steer Sevenoaks to 247-8 and although Canterbury produced a brave response, led by Paul Steer (59) and Dominic Chambers (51), they ended agonisingly four runs short on 243-8.

There were two centuries in the game between Bexley and Bromley. Wayne Morgan raced to a fine 126 to provide the foundation for Bromley's impressive total of 312-4. Greg Bain responded with 116 for Bexley but it wasn't enough to save his side from a 69-run defeat as they were bowled out for 243. James Butterfill (5-41) claimed his second successive five-wicket haul for Bromley.

Bottom club Tunbridge Wells gave their chances of avoiding relegation a boost with an eight-wicket win over Lordswood at the Nevill.

Apart from Matt Greenwood (81) and Dan Masters (35), Lordswood performed poorly with the bat as they were dismissed for 172, and then a century opening stand between Gregor Patterson (69 not out) and Alex Williams (58) set Wells on their way to a much-needed success.
