Simon the Seal is spotted again

Simon the seal who was first spotted swimming in the River Medway at Allington Lock has been spotted again.
This time he was photographed by Tony Thorogood, of the Environment Agency, having a rest on a ledge by Allington Lock
He, or she as the sex isn't actually known was first caught on camera on March 16 and has been seen as far upstream as East Farleigh.
The RSPCA has been called to escort him back to the estuary as it is unlikely that he will be able to make his own way safely back downstream.
"It is wonderful to see such a charismatic creature in the River Medway. The River really has excellent wildlife value." said Cat Ross, of the Environment Agency Southern Region.
The seal seems to be finding plenty of food, as following dives lasting several minutes it regularly surfaces with a fish or eel in its mouth.
