POLICE are appealing to the public for information after a 36-year-old man was brutally assaulted in a Kent nightclub.

The incident happened on the dance floor at the Zone Nightclub in Gillingham.

The victim, from Rochester, was dancing with a small group of friends when he was punched on the back of the head and knocked unconscious. He received serious injuries and needed hospital treatment.

The description of the man officers would like to contact is white, aged between 20 and 30, stocky build, 6ft tall in height with a skinhead haircut. He was dressed in a round-neck, short-sleeved T-shirt and jeans and was wearing glasses.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Friday, February 24.
