Suzuki reveals new high-spec Swift

Suzuki has added a luxurious but affordable new model to the Swift range, to sit between the Sport and the SZ3.
Adding features from the Swift Sport to the existing SZ3 spec, like a boot spoiler and red stitching on the steering wheel and gear knob, the Swift SZ-L is aimed at buyers who want the looks but don't need the highly-tuned 1.6-litre engine from the highly-tuned Sport.
The SZ-L also adds unique 16-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, cruise control and free metallic paint in a choice of four colours.
It uses only the surprisingly powerful 1.2-litre Dual-VVT petrol engine which produces 93bhp combined with CO2 emissions of 116g/km. At present that means free road tax for the first year and then a £30 fee after that. Fuel economy is up to 56.5mpg.
The model is rated in a relatively low insurance group so should be accessible to the young target audience, especially when combined with Suzuki's current `VAT-free' offer which sees a 20% reduction in the purchase price.
That makes the SZ-L peerless value at £10,599 for the three-door and £11,016 with five doors.
In a press release Suzuki said: "The SZ-L is... the ideal purchase for younger Swift fans who want to own a more striking, design-led car at a price that isn't going to break the bank."
The new model is on sale now, but only qualifies for the 20% discount until the end of March.
