Police have been unable to identify a tattooed pedestrian who died when a car mounted a footpath and hit him.
The man, thought to be around 40 to 50 years old, was struck by a silver Mini Cooper on the A28 Canterbury Road at Birchington.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate where he was pronounced dead.
Kent Police said the female motorist was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The London-bound carriageway was closed for around four-and-a-half hours while investigations took place.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information about the man's identity to contact them.
He is described as 5ft 10in, and was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a black, white and blue tracksuit top.
He also had tattoos on both arms.
