A WOMAN was beaten and kicked and a 14-year-old girl hit in the face with a pole in separate attacks carried out by two brothers.

The assaults arose from a dispute with the woman’s son and ended with the brothers being convicted of various offences at Canterbury Crown Court.

Jay Styles, 22, who at the time lived at Prince Andrew Road, Broadstairs, denied the charges but was convicted of assaulting Tanya Sutton, causing actual bodily harm, on October 21.

He was convicted of assaulting the schoolgirl the same evening. He admitted possessing an offensive weapon, the piping.
