Thanet takes centre stage in a series of television dramas about relationships starting tonight.

The five-part series aired from 10.25pm tonight sees director Dominic Savage returning to his home town.

Called True Love, it was filmed around Margate, and features five overlapping love stories.

It includes Doctor Who stars David Tennant and Billie Piper, who will each lead a story.

The series also stars David Morrissey, who appeared in the 2008 Christmas special as The Other Doctor.

Others signed up to appear include Jenny Agutter, Jane Horrocks, best known for playing Bubble in Absolutely Fabulous, and Lacey Turner, otherwise known as Stacey Slater from EastEnders.
