A major carriageway closed for repairs after two accidents is expected to fully reopen soon, police said today.

Officers said traffic is already flowing on one lane of the coastbound A229 Thanet Way.

The other lane is due to open soon.

It follows two accidents and an oil spill which took place on Sunday.

The incidents happened Sunday night on the A299 Thanet Way coastbound road between the M2 and the A290.

No one was injured in either incident.
