Three new Triumphs to debut at Motorcycle Live

Triumph is to unveil three new models at Motorcycle Live, including a new variant of Tiger, a Speed Triple R and a rather amazing Steve McQueen Edition.
The Tiger Explorer is powered by a new 1215cc three-cylinder engine and boasts a huge amount of technology, including cruise control, switchable traction control and switchable ABS.
A heavy-duty shaft drive system has been developed for the Explorer, increasing service intervals to 10,000 miles and allowing for worry-free touring. It retains the long travel suspension and 19-inch front wheel of some of its forebears, and Triumph claims that it has the ability to handle unpaved roads.
The Speed Triple R is bejewelled with some of the finest upgrades available, like Ohlins NIX30 front and TTX36 rear suspension, lightweight five-spoke alloy wheels, Brembo brakes and switchable ABS.
It also has a completely redesigned gearbox for 2012, correcting what some riders saw as a notchy, vague gearshift action.
Finally, the special edition Triumph Steve McQueen Edition is something out of the blue, but utterly desirable. Based on the T100, only 1,100 will be sold worldwide.
Featuring a host of modified parts, the design is inspired by the Triumph Trophy TR6 that McQueen insisted on riding during the famous stunt scene in The Great Escape, and features a military-style Matt Khaki Green livery, stencil-style Triumph decal on the tank and the actor's signature on the side covers.
Lots of parts on the bike are blacked out to really capture the classic TR6 look, and each bike will be individually numbered with a plaque placed on the handlebar clamp, while owners will be given a certificate of authenticity as well.
