PARTS of Gillingham are so neglected they are now posing a public danger, council critics have claimed.
Medway councillors Maureen Ruparel and Andrew Stamp plan to raise their concerns at a police organised public meeting taking place from 7pm tonight at St Magdalene Church, Gillingham Green.
The meeting will also give residents a chance to identify concerns and help influence the way thier neighbourhood is managed.
Speaking ahead of the meeting Cllr Ruparel said: "The council should be pro-actively maintaining the ward, not just acting when a complaint is put in.
Cllr Stamp added:"There is so much which needs to be done including sorting out the alleyways, which are really untidy and overgrown.
"But the community needs to get involved so we can get something done, I hope lots of people go to the meeting."
