Vicious attack near cathedral

POLICE are hunting two men and a woman who carried out a brutal robbery near Rochester Cathedral. The victims were two men who were walking through the Vines park.

The men, both in their 20s, were punched and threatened as they made their way home from work. The robbers stole a carrier bag containing alcohol.

The first robber was described as white, about 5ft 10in and aged between 16 and 19. He was wearing a light coloured baseball cap, sports jacket and dark bottoms.

The second man was white, about 5ft 7in tall, of stocky build, with short dark hair and a goatee beard. He was wearing dark clothing.

The woman robber was also white and aged about 17. She had mousey brown hair tied back. She was wearing a three-quarter length grey coat with a hood.

The incident occurred at at 12.30am on Friday. A spokesman for Medway Police said: “The offenders made off towards the Rochester area from the Vines either along the High Street or via the Esplanade over Rochester Bridge. We would appeal to anyone who saw them in the area, carrying a bag full of alcohol, to contact us.”
