A family have told how they tried to free their dog when he became trapped in a wine rack.

The Perry family, of Kings Chase, Willesborough, heard a commotion in the hallway of their home only to find Ebony, their 14-week-old pedigree black alsatian with her head stuck in a metal wine rack.

They believe the hapless hound was playing an enthusiastic game of chase with their cats who had hidden behind the wine rack in the hallway and the dog’s unfortunate approach of getting to them was to attempt to get through the wine rack.

The family dashed out to see what all the noise was about only to find Ebony, who they got four weeks ago, leaping about wearing the wine rack.

They called the fire brigade and an engine turned up at the house.
