A warning is in place for strong winds in Kent today.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for gusts of between 45 and 55mph in some places.

Exposed coasts and hills could be hit with winds of up to 65mph, which may cause disruption and damage to trees.

A spokesman said: "Given that this is one of the first gales of the autumn, the public should be aware of the risk of localised disruption, possibly affecting travel and late holiday activities."

The warning, which covers the south east region including Kent, came into effect at 5am today and remains in place until 8pm.
