The county is expected to be hit by persistent and heavy rain tomorrow, the Met Office has warned.

A yellow weather warning has been issued for Kent, between midnight tonight and 3pm tomorrow (Thursday).

Heavy rain will affect the county during the morning, clearing eastwards in the early afternoon.

Between 20 to 30mm of rain is expected, with 40mm in a few places near English Channel coasts.

The combination of fallen leaves and wet ground could also cause drains to block and produce large amounts of surface water.

Motorists are expected to be impacted, as well as passengers travelling on bus and train services – with travel times expected to take longer.

The flooding of some homes and businesses is also predicted.

The latest warning comes little more than 24 hours after a Met Office alert for high winds.

The wind warning, in place from midnight on Monday (October 31) to 8am the following day, were a result of an area of low pressure, named Storm Claudio.

It had been building over France and moved eastwards through the English Channel, bringing gale force winds.
